Okay, so i try to do a boost test. i have a 95 gsx with a 6 bolt compelte motor and b16g turbo. I hook up the tester on the intake side of the turbo. Seal it up and send some presure in at 20-30 psi. I hear some bubbling going on inside liek the engine. Look at my boost gague and no pressure, I am not getting any presssure when i hook everything up. I am using the www.vfaw.com boost intercooler tester thing. I am getting no boost to test for so WTF is going on and what am i doing wrong?

I am getting really bad gas mileage, i have a minor exhaust leak out my downpipe where the felx section is. is there a way to fix this? WIll new o2 sensors halp give me better gasmileage.

also i am getting fire balls shooting out the exhaust when is shift. My friends say they can see liek things light up in my exhaust. Does this mean i am runnign to rich/lean? How can i change this? I do not have a dsm link or anything to tune with.

The car is pulling fine at 12/13 psi and i dont seem to be having any problems there. I just get bad gas mileage, i mean really bad like driving 1 hour and 45 minutes cost me. And seem to be running to lean. How can i solve these problems?

EDIT: the rear of the bumper is covered in black around the exhaust tip due to the smoke that is comign out. It is more of like a grey/blue smoke. But it lands on my whtie rear bumper and stins it so i have to use a bug tar remover. Then it wipes right off.???

THis car is really pissing me off with all the problems i am runnign into!!!!!! makes me want to scream

Hook your o2 up to a voltmeter and see what is says. The numbers should jump around between 0.00v and 1.00v. If the numbers stay low, the computer thinks you are runnin lean and dumps fuel, hence running rich. That would cause soot to collect on your back bumper.

As for the bubbling when you do the boost leak test, that could mean maybe a blown/leaky headgasket? The pressure could leak past the gasket and into the coolant chambers? Check your oil for coolant and coolant for oil. Any smoke coming out? When my o2 went out, I would kick out black soot when I went WOT.

Yea, I'd go over all your intake pipes all the way to the head. Maybe your intake manifold gasket or one of your TB gaskets is bad. Listen for hissing leaking air, maybe spray some soapy water on your pipes to see if air is escaping there.

If thats not it, maybe your boost gauge hose is kinked? I had mine running through a hole in the drivers side firewall and it somehow got near that lightbulb that illuminates the floor, and it melted it shut. Scared the crap out of me, I was goin WOT and all of a sudden the gauge just stopped.

i jsut replaced teh seals along the TB and itnake manifold. The boost gauges reads fine at WOT at 12-13 psi.

How much of a chance is there that i have a bad head gasket?

I blwo the air in but it goes no where through the system, i think i remember getting maybe a slight bubble or 2 coming form the blow off valve with the soapy water. But other than that all i hear is liek ubbling going on inside the engine/head liek the sound of bubbles blown with a straw.??

I'm having the same problem. I just did a leak test last night. I found a small leak, which i fixed and also heard the bubbling sound. Did you ever figure out what it was?

you can always pull the charge pipe off your intake, and cap the end, to test if the leak is in the chargepipes, or in the engine. ;)
