Steinbach,
So i recently did another boost leak test after installing my fmic, and i heard air coming from the throttle body area, so i took of the part of the uicp that has the bov, and did the test just for the throttle body, as i presurized the system my boost gague went up to 10 psi but went done right aways. When i was doing the test from under the hood , i was feeling around and whenever i put my hand on top of the throttle body by all those lines i can hear the pitch of air change and it muffles it a little. When i used soapy water to try to get bubbles i see nothing but i can hear it very loudly. when i was testing i was told it could be my tb shaft seals but i had my buddy play with the throttle because if it was the seals then you should hear the sound of the air change but everything stayed the same. I also fixed my leak in the biss screw and that is not leaking at all anymore. this leak has been happening for a long time so all help would be apprectiated and even if anyone locally wouldnt mind come helping me out or something it would be wicked because i wanna get all my leaks fixed before i start tuning and all that so its kinda of holding me back. So if you have any ideas at all please post.

A few things....dont rule out T/B shaft seals at this point. I actually pulled the vacuume lines, trimed them back past the old clamps and re clamped them to get a better seal. And I would check and possibly change the T/B gaskets as well and if needed a thin coat of RTV to be sure they seal.

Just pull the throttle body and get new seals and gaskets. Or you could pull it and spray the gaskets down with that liqid gasket sealer stuff. GoodLuck.

If you already have the uicp off, you need to take the throttle cable off, un plug the TPS and ISC, remove 2 coolant lines, and 5 bolts the whole thing is off. As stated above, should not take more than 40 mins to an hour if you have the parts.

So im gonna head to Napa today, what should i all get so my tb will seal great. Im thinking i mideswell do all the seals up there and just get them over with while i have everything ripped apart.

Ok i just clamped everything down and again expected 7-8 psi like i had before, but when driving everytime i stepped on and i hit some sort of boost, it would make a loud fast sputter until i let off, so i slowly tried to get boost and when i did at some points i hit 5-6 psi but felt very weird, i tried to hold boost for a bit and then a loud loud backfire and the car jerked forward and stalled it self, after that i hit boost one more time for a little bit and then went to slow down for the stop sign and it stalled, now the car would not idle at all, and it drove like a ic piping blew off except for when driving. When driving it would drive normal until it hit boost then it would dog. To my knowledge if you blow of a intercooler pipe your car will barley move. I kno this cause it happened to me a little bit ago. So im gonna rip the bumper off tonight and do a boost leak test on everything and hopefully get it all right. But how did i hit 5-6 psi and then the car didnt idle. My biss screw is still in, my bov is being recirculated and all my vaccum lines are stock. somebody please help. The more info the better

The second you pull that coupler, do another boost leak test......its looks like evrythings tight, but there will be times its not. also as for bad idle and dieing that sounds like your recirc tube is not completly air tight......do the test and let us know and also check the recirc tube.

So i did the test and i just realized that one of the couplers goin onto the ic was toast so now i got a new one and it will hold about 7 psi at wot. Alls i have left now is to do whatever is wrong up by the intake. One more question is it normal to hear air at idle when you have your head up to the intake manifold

Well air of what sort? Idle is pretty loud wiht your head there. The best thing to do would be to just k eep at the boost leak test.

Untill you can hold 20 psi in your system and it SLOWLY falls of.....when doing a boost leak test get the 20 in and then be silent.....listen for anyleaks. Goodluck.

Whats going on up by the intake ?

I have the two new gaskets for TB. I can't seem to find part numbers for any seals. Anyone have part numbers and/or the loacation in the CAPS program where I can find them?

Is there any way that i can single out just the throttle body and stuff so i can figure out where the leak is. I think its somewhere on the bottom of the tb or the intake manifold because i cant get anything to bubble with soapy water.

Its as easy as this. Get the throttlebody elbow to TB gasket and the TB to Intake mani gasket thats 2 or the 4 main leaks that happen there. MachV.com sells the Throttle body shaft seals. I myself just went down to work ( NAPA ) with my throttle body and picked up 2 rubber washers and used those I figure if they only was a couple thousand miles its about 48 cents and 1 hour to fix. GoodLuck guys.
