OK here's the deal I have about 2k to soon drop into my car and since I am getting a job, in about a week, I am planning on saving up more to get a turbo kit, but lately my views have shifted into something a bit more different. I am now stuck between two choices since I have begun reading the boards an awd turbo seems facinating even to think about. So heres what I am split between, do you guys think I should drop a hahn stage 1, exhaust system, etc in my eclipse(which would be my daily driver by the way). Or should I get an awd 1g and keep the eclipse as a daily driver? and if you think the second option is better could you tell me as to if it is really possible getting an awd 1g for 3k and having money left over for mods etc on it? You may be asking well why didnt you buy a turbo 2g in the first place? Well the dsm you see pictured is my first car ever and is also the car I half way learned stick shift in. Plus I was not really knowledgable about turbos etc and thought I would mess something up.Now I am not saying that I am a turbo guru but I have basic knowledge about them now thanks to these forums....anyways
thanks for all the help :dsm:

No on: "do you think I should get the Hahn Kit", and yes to: "should I save up a bit more and buy a 1G AWD?"

You might be able to find a 1G AWD where ever you are, that the owner doesn't know how much its worth. Chances are though, that the person that will be selling it checked the value and AWD's hold their value pretty good.

$3000 will get a running bone stock 1G, but I doubt if you'll have much money to mod with afterwards.

If you look on Autotrader...its pretty hard to find a clean 1G for under $4000, .....I am not saying you can't, just that clean 1G's bring $4999.99 all day long.

I have seen 1G AWD's go as low as $1500, and non-running beater AWD's go for $500.

Best of luck.

I've noticed that trend lately too. Seems you cant find ANY 1g AWD's for less than 3k nowadays.

I was lucky to get mine from a buddy for $1500.

However, NO to the hahn kit, and turbocharging a non turbo.

YES to buying a 1g AWD.

Save up some. afford the 1g. Keep both cars. I'd LOVE to have 2 dsms. 1 for hardcore track days, and 1 for the daily driver.
