wondering what u guys boost on your 16g's. im have my profec b set so i see usually 22.xx psi on the profecb2. some people claim that the big16g is out of its efficiency range and it will just blow hot air blah blah, i beg to differ. also my boost gauge and profecb2 are tapped into the same line for boost source. the profecb2 reads 22.5ish and my autometer reads 23-24ish. which do u think is more accurate?

anyways im tuning with a logger and safc2, u can see my mods in my profile, on 93 octane. u guys with 16g's what are u running for psi?????

PS: my b16g performs damn good at this psi and my o2 voltages are at .94 and im seeing 20 degrees timing advance by redline. i think the b16g likes to boost this much

I run an EVO big 16G ad have my boostse at 18-19 PSI. I have run 22 PSI with a few gallns of 112 leaded i the tank but since my motor has 105k iles on it Im stay between 16 & 18 PSI. I understand the EVO is good for 24-25 PSI and I believe it. All I have is a wideband A/F to tune with now and 550cc injectors with the GM MAF-Translator. Mark

granted a b16g will be more efficent at 18 psi then at 24psi, but from those specs your doing great. Especially with 20 degrees peaktiming, I would go with the autometer being more accurate, which ever one has the better boost source...but Id still go with the autometer. If your running that much peak timing then you know your doing something right... Oh and I run 14-18psi depending on the temp and how bad my car creeps.

14lbs with an evo III and I dance around 90% injector duty cycle. I get 24 degrees of peak timing with 1-2 counts of knock occasionaly.

Did a 13.6 with my current mods, pump gas, 14lbs. It's a good turbo

Last week, I was in a 17psi SRT4 and a 90 FWD with evo3 16g @ 18psi GM MAF and more tuning shit than a doctors office. The srt4 ate the DSM. Not what I wanted to see. Mabye it was because the dsm had the maf before the turbo. I dunno, bu the SRT killed the 90.

At AGP turbo's site they list a couple of those srt's putting 400+hp to the wheels. We with DSM's will have to work a little harder. I have the EVO but am looking for a 50 trim or something bigger but know very little of the hybrid turbo's and arond here turbo's are a cold topic when it seems that turbo info is needed if we are not to fall by the wayside. I know that it takes more than a turbo but something besides a 16G should help.
Sorry to get off the topic but a friend has a friend with on of thoseSRT's and I need some ammo! Mark

EVOIII 16G, I puddle around on 18psi, can run up to 20 psi on 93 octane.

so i went out last night and had my g/f watch my profecb2 and i watched my boost gauge. first put it on the low setting which is 16 psi. seemed as though they were both right on. then turned it on my high setting. which i was seeing 23 psi on my gauge, and like 22.6-9 ishon the profec b. it seems as though at high psi the profec b is slower to read (as its digital). so i turned it down one percent and im now in the 22.3 ish on the profec b and somewhere in the same spot on my boost gauge.

its interesting to see u guys running such low boost on 93 octane with evos and big 16g's. i figured average would be running 20 psi. but instead so far average is around 18 psi. of course if you dont have all the supporting mods thats expectable. oh well, keep on with your responses guys. :thumb:

I was able to run 22psi when my timing was way retard. Now I added timing on 18psi, I ran faster on pump gas. went from 108 to 109mph in 1/4mile

What do you want, the Neons FWD, had a 16g from the factory, and has a 2.4 liter engine...Their going to make more pump gas power unless the dsm is tuned well or has a real turbo.

i just put a EVO3 16g on my laser rs and i can only run 10psi because even then i hit fuel cut in second at about 6400 rpm :thumbdown so i don't know why mine is so much lower then everyone else's but i am fine with it for now because i need to do moremods before i turn it up. I just replaced the stock turbo at 178,000 because the ex. houseing was cracked. :laser:
