Bestest 2nd gen catback?

any exhaust can quiet down with the addition of a resonator or two with no power loss. I say, buy a cheap straight thru muffler that you like on ebay or whatever and go to a muffler shop to weld you a nice 3inch catback. At least this way you can have the style muffler you want and not break your pocket.

Thats what i was thinking,, Hmm.. just have to make sure its a good piece of pipe. ...

how about some more sudjestions...

I have a greddy pe (the old style) I love it. Its 3 in. with two resonators and a huge muffler. YES, I know I don't make is much power with it as I could with another pipe...HOWEVER its bukew quiet. I can jump on the gas whenever I want and the cops don't really mess with me. Its still loud enough when your all the way in it though.

The evo 2 is the new version...its equally quiet and slightly restrictive.

and yes those peices are what, 5 or 600 bux for a catback? You'll spend 250 to 300 max on a custom exhaust the exact way you want it. I had a greddy evo 2 muffler knock off just collecting dust in my house that i bought for 50 bux. Gave it to my cuzin and he went to a shop and had them make a 3in mandrel bent catback and used that muffler. 270 total with muffler and it sounds amazing and not loud at all.

If money is a big factor you can do what has been said and get a custom built exhaust. Otherwise check out the RNR exhaust at www.rnrracing.com for some excellent prices on some well built exhausts. the only real problem with them is turn-around time...look at 1-2 months to get your exhaust.

The best out there has got to be the Thermal R&D...it's a beauty.

nah buddy, got my exhaust used for 250.

But I don't see why purchasing a nice NEW exhaust for 600 bucks is so obsene. If we want to be cheap why don't we just take the whole damn thing off, save weight and get more power for free???! Why's everyone gotta scrimp on everything???

Dan

get an RNR turboback for the same price as an HKS, GReddy, Apexi, etc. catback. You will thank me after you get a full 3" exhaust for the same price or less than one of those "performance catbacks". :thumb:
