best of 2g and 1g short blocks??

ok i think i got crankwalk. I have a 1g block that i em gonna be putting in. So i was wondering is there anything i can use off my 2g block i heard pistons is that true?? Is there anything else i can use. Plz point me in the right direction thanks

Unless you got a 1995 then don't use your pistons.
For the 6bolt block use...


1g big rods (90-91 I think)
2g pistons (95 only)

Should be a good setup for you internally on the bottom end.
Which head will be up to you. I was told to use my 1g head that I'm buying with the 1g block I got. So I went with a 1g head. I was going to use a 2g head because I was trying to save money but me basically being told it would save all of like 100 bucks for me I just went 1g ported.

What type of performance are you wanting out of the car?

Yes...the 1g head is far superior to the 2g head. 1g heads seem to be cheap and easy to come by these days too

why only use 95 pistions? whats wrong with 96 pistons? i know 2nd gen pistons raise compression to about 9-1 so what do 96 pistons do then?

95 pistons are the strongest pistons you can get from a 2nd gen other than buying forged pistons.
