$320 for alarm labor is $300 with remote start
So, can you buy the alarm for $320 + tax, and install it yourself? My brother bought a Viper alarm a couple of years ago from Stereo West here, and it came to $360 with install, but they didn't have an opening for like two months, so I told him that I'd install it for him, but they wouldn't drop the price of the alarm. So they got the money for the install while I did all the work.

Make sure you set it to "Blowin' In The Wind" sensitivity so when a car goes by, it starts going off like you just broke all the windows.

You could by the Bulldog Talking alarm on www.ebaymotors.com do a search and type in Bulldog Talking alarm and it will come up. You can get it for $40 or $25 that is cheap. It is loud and it says 7 different phrases. I had it on my 1991 Toyota Celica that was all supped up. It was a lot of fun. The strong robotic voice would scare the hell out of unsuspecting people when I armed or disarmed it. It would say "System Armed" "System disarmed". I have been tampered with. Please move away from the vehicle etc. It also had a woman panic feature that says "Please help me!" "Please help me!" It is the best bang LOL for the buck plus it works well.

I would also get a Varad "Alien" scanner for $32 off of Ebay or local Stereo shop. This mounts to your dash or the back of your rear view mirrior and you can get it in blue, green, yellow or orange. It is sweet!! If you like futuristic type things.:thumb:

Lastly you can get a crook lock $20-$60 from Murray's or Autozone and have the complete JJay2003 Cheapee hook up alarm system:laugh: :thumb:

I am telling you if you like to play with toys get that Bulldog alarm system and the Varad alien scanner.

my mazda is so worn out you can set the alarm and then open the door and nothing happens. God forbid you were to sneeze really hard next to it though.
i plan on putting a clifford in my GS-T

whats the best bang for the buck alarm? i want something that WILL make a lot of noise if someone does more than knock on my window. i relaly odnt want to spend over 200$... more i guess + labor..

you can always go to radio shack and buy a siren that is way louder than the one that comes with the alarm:dsm:

I read somewhere that you could put a magnetic field switch on the shifter and on the body so that the car wont start if using a remote start. As far as the tt goes, there should be some kind of arm switch that wont arm the car until the current is cut, then just hook it up to the stereo. (magnetic field switch = 2 piece switch used in home security Like the kind that you put on the top of the door and on the door frame, so that when the door is opened it trips the alarm.)

Fact: most all car theifes can drive your car off in under 1min.. car alarms do jack shit..

if you do not want your car stolen (can't think of the name of the product) you should make or buy the thing i can't thingk of LOL .. it has a lazer cut key so it can not be picked.. and locks up your pedels.. so even if he gets the car started if you say lock up the clutch pedel he ant goin no where.. same for break or gas.. and they are made of a super hard tool steel so you can not cut though them... damn it wish i could think of the name of these things.. er well maybe someone here knows what i am talkin about

I'm just staying with the stock alarm and putting in my own kill switch so that the damn thing can't be started...

I figure if someone is going to do a smash and grab on my gauges or other interior stuff they are going to get it no matter what alarm I put in.. My car is garage kept at home and I will never be able to run out of the mall in time to catch someone steeling my gauges...

As long as they can't drive her away, that is all I am worried about..
Mind you I don't have any ICE in my car at all and I am planning on hiding any of my componentes (Turbo timer, AFC) so that they are not out in the open.

I got the Viper 791XV. Works nice. Paid $450 installed at Tweeter. Very nice, wish my hks TT would work with it. The instaler said the remote start would have to be hooked up for the alarm to work with the TT but since its a manual the store can't hook it up (damn policies).

Anyways, I am more interesting in keeping someone away from smashing my window and ripping ut electronics or getting under my hood than someone actually taking my whole car. Plus I setup a little switch with the clutch switch so I can make it unstartable..unless they find the switch but at least it slows em down.

http://www.crimestopper.com/index3.html ( get the informer II ) thats the one i have, it works awesome, plus it has a turbo timer included into the kit, its a 2 way alarm plus it was easy to install, check out all the options this one has to offer, PLUS i bought it off of x10.com for $150.... not too shabby my friend :thumb:
