What could be the cause of bent intake valves on only one cylinder (cyl 4) ? No marks on piston head, just the slightest slightest bend on the valves, just enough to make taking those valves a little harder than the rest. Never revved past 7300 and am on supertech dual springs so I'm thinking it shouldn't have floated.

It didn't give me any problems, honestly I don't think I would have noticed if the head didn't come off.
I just happened to be taking apart the head to clean it up, put 3g lifters, and do the oil mod.

Thanks.

The only thing I can think of is that they were already bent or the timing may be slightly off. A slight bend could equal no marks on the pistons.

Improperly installed valves, OR ! A bad wrist pin will create sufficient play to extend the stroke of the piston to contact the valves.
timing could also play a factor.-"check Mech timing" -There could be many reasons but i think logically there's a higher chance of the issue originating from the head rather than the block.

When i bent the crap out of my intake valves there were no marks on my pistons..

Was the head ever off and sitting on the deck surface with the cams still installed? I accidentally bent 2 intake valves on one cylinder like that a few years ago. Two were partially open and I must have set it down on the bench too hard...
