balance shaft elimination

Yes you can, but you also need to install the 'stubby shaft' on the rear balance shaft as well. They were designed to work together and if you get rid of one you have to get rid of the other. I did an elimination for a friend by only using the $12 stubby shaft and some new gaskets.

Basically you want oil blocked off to the shafts. The front shaft is oiled through the block, so if you leave the shaft in there, it will block the oil passages. The rear shaft is oiled through the shaft itself through the oil pump. The stubby shaft has a built in plug that will block that off as well and will get rid of the counter-weighted shaft on the end of it, allowing for a clean BSE.

Yea, that's what I was planning on doing. I bought all necessary gaskets and the stubby shaft. I was planning on doing the rear removal with the stubby shaft and then just taking the belt off the front one. However, time constraints forced me to discontinue. Everything is back on normal (stock form), but I did not put the front balance shaft's belt on.

I guess I'll go ahead and put it back on until I can eliminate both at the same time...?
