Baer Track brake pad replacement

Well my Baer Track big brake kit needed a pad replacement, so I ran down to the local auto parts store and bought a run of the mill $50 set of pads for a Mustang Cobra. Everything fit fine, but now my brakes absolutely suck. The factory brakes on my DD feel WAY better. I can't even lock up the tires/engage the abs at any reasonable speed. I would think almost any brake pad would be able to lock the tires on a full stop.

Any ideas?

I know this maybe a stupid question but did you bleed the brakes? Sounds like you have air in the lines. Or you master cyl might be going out.

I swapped in the whole cylinder/vacuum unit from my other AWD, lines are all bled and bled again, then installed SS brake lines on all 4 corners and bled them again. Still the same weak feel.

The old pads were awesome, even when they were way worn down. This just happened right after I swapped in the new ones so I doubt anything else could have gone wrong in the 30 minutes I took to put them on and bed them.

PBR used the same calipers on the Cobra as well, so the pads should be the same between all 3.

This just happened right after I swapped in the new ones so I doubt anything else could have gone wrong in the 30 minutes I took to put them on and bed them.

Yep, thats where I first noticed the problem. I was hoping they would get better after a few heat cycles, but no dice.

I guess that's what I get for spending money on a good brake set-up and cheaping out on pads, I just don't understand why so many crap cars with crap brakes on crap pads can still outperform these.

I'll probably just pick up a set of good pads that some of the Corvette/Cobra guys recommend.
