Bad ISC, runs w/o??

I had an idle issues the other night...... when parked idle would be like 500rpms and and when I'd shift into gear (A/T) the car would die. So I pulled the ISC out and tested it and had little to no resistance. Today I drove to work w/o the ISC and it drove fine just fine after adjusting the BISS, just takes awhile for the rpms to drop. Can I still drive the car w/o worrying about messing something else up?? Or should I just park it till my new ISC comes tuesday??

Its fine to drive without the ISC plugged in....I've been doing it for almost two years. My car idles perfectly at 750 rpms (at regular operating temperature) but if you turn on the AC the idle may drop and the car might run a little rough. If you dont care about this side effect then you don't have to worry. My car doesnt even have AC so its not a big deal.

So what did you end up doing?

I tested my ISC and it doesn't "plunge" correctly i.e. it doesn't move in and out like it is supposed to, so I am assuming mine is on the path to death too.

Anyway, now my idle is surging about 500 rpms at stops and stuff, I am half-tempted to unplug mine too....

No side effects? So is it like a spleen or something....you just don't really need it...?

Seems to me that the car isnt running as quick as it was. The rpms's take a while to drop back down and the vac is about 5psi higher then before. Alos my gas mileage is slightly worse.

The ISC just adjusts your idle if it is off. If you don't have it, you need to have the idle perfectly set using the BISS and it will be effected by things like accessories turning on and off, etc.
