bad iac or not?

I tested 1 & 2 29 ohms 2 & 3 29 ohms then 4 & 5 29 ohms then 5 & 6 nothing now my question is does that mean my iac is bad?

Yep bad.
Be aware some of the newer substitution ones made after year 2000 read 40 ohms (instead of the original spec of 28-33 ohms at 68*F).

Looks like back to the junkyard for me.

Both of the iac's I have are the tan tops I guess because of the 6th pin not reading any ohms its bad what a bummer.

Yeah mine just recently had the same problem. The black topped one is the only one that fixed my bad idle problem. The tan topped ones apparently like to die all the time.at least it's easy to change. And yeah getting nothing from 5&6 means it toast.

Nothing often means 0 or close to zero which in resistance measurements would be a short. Opens are whatever the meter displays when the probes aren't touching or infinite resistance.

A short between the pins of the ISC will damage your ECU. An open won't hurt it. In either case the ISC is bad.
