My problem just started recently. I would let the car idle for about 20 min while I was getting ready for work(its been really cold here, about -5 in the morning). I came out one morning and same smoke coming from the engine bay. When I took off, the car was smoking like crazy, kinda like when the turbo goes bad. Here's what I found. The first pic is where the most smoke is coming from.it's right in the corner of the timing cover and the head. The other pic is a trail of oil I found coming from just underneath the exhaust manifold. I can't tell exactly where its coming from. A tech at work said it may be a bad head gasket, but it looks like it could be the turbo blowing oil through a leak between the exhaust housing and the 02 housing. I also do not have any oil in the coolant or any coolant in the oil. Thanks for reading, and sorry it's so long. Any help would be great.

I just took the exhaust manifold heat shield off and let the car run for a while. The oil is coming from under the exhaust manifold. Its dripping on the oil filter. Is there an oil line under there somewhere that could be leaking? There is no smoke from the exhaust when its idleing so I don't think its the rings. Help please

your best bet is to clean everything up so there is no visible oil then drive it and see where it pools. Also check the belts and see if the oil is being thrown up by them from the side of the engine. If your headgasket it bad it's not that hard to replace.
