The date is set for the next DSM cruise. Sunday December 9th 2007.

The route may have minor revisions but the plan is to leave a common gathering spot (TBA) and then head to Prescott, Jerome, Sedona, and almost to Flagstaff before returning on I-17.

Meeting time will likely be 8-8:30 so there is plenty of time to stop for pics and have lunch along the route.

There will likely be some people who would agree to take riders and share fuel cost so if your DSM is down don't be afraid to ask around.

Stay tuned for more details. I'll update the thread as things are firmed up.

Non-DSM vehicles are welcome to roll with us as long as you understand there may be a few photo opportunities where we might not want a Buick in the shot. :)

If my car is not going to be done by that time I`ll be foot runing with u guys.

Count me in. I hope to have my 95 GST ready by that date. The last cruise was a really good time.

Sunday the 9th of December. 8:30 AM roll out from the Anthem Way and I-17 meeting spot. We'll meet at the McDonald that is just east of I-17 on Anthem Way on the right side as you drive east on Anthem Way at 8AM.

Plan to be there by 8 AM if you are going to get food or coffee so we can roll out at 8:30 please. If you have any of those Talk-About walkie talkies bring them so we can coordinate between vehicles if needed for restroom stops or photo oppurtunities.

The plan is to head to Prescott, Jerome, Sedona and end just south of Flagstaff. There are several opportunities to divert and head back to Phoenix if you can't drive the entire route. Map shows about 6 hours of driving total. We plan to stop for some pics and rest breaks along the way of course. If time is running short we'll skip the last leg (the drive up Oak Creek Canyon).

We will make 8:30 the official roll out time from the McDonald's gathering spot (east on Anthem Way) near the Safeway parking lot.

Has anyone else posted the cruise info to other forums? This list is combined with az2gnt list.

Note: If you have a rider(s) or are looking for one, post it up beside your name.

Dave do you mind of I post this on some other forums?

I don't see why not. Hopefully there is some DSM relevance for people going but it's not a big deal if they don't have a DSM.

I would like to have a few opportunities to photograph the 2Gs and all DSMs together for the club sites so we might ask non-DSM related cars to lay low in some photo ops.

Going to try to make it, last one was a blast!
Where exactly is That meet spot? I-17 and Anthem Way?

I'll officially make a call on the event by Saturday night so watch this thread on Saturday evening.

I agree that things could change for the better by Sunday and as of now we are still planning to roll.

I'll also post on az2gnt.net.

Things are looking pretty sad for a drive tomorrow even though things have dried out a little here today. Weatherman shows showers moving in again here tomorrow afternoon and snow expected again in Flagstaff and mountains tonight and tomorrow morning. My daughter drove from Sedona to Flagstaff today and said there were lots of areas where rocks had washed down and where mud and silt were needing to be cleared by DOT.

I don't want to drive that far to end up in showers and snow and mud. It's fun to take the turns a little fast in the mountains but not if there are loose rocks or icy patches hidden in the shadows.

I am suggesting we try another date for a north AZ cruise TBA.

Soooo....

Weather permitting for tomorrow, my suggestion is to stay in the valley and do a South Mountain Tour and then maybe all go to a Sonic or some other eatery for lunch together.

If it's not raining tomorrow morning I will be at the Fry's Electronic's parking lot (far east end) at 9:30 tomorrow morning. Fry's is on Baseline Rd just west of I-10 freeway. Let's roll at 10:00 for South Mountain. It is a nice drive up and easy on the cars and the wallet for fuel. I'll bring video and still camera. It will likely be windy up on the top so bring a warm coat while we take a few pics and group shots.

Fry's in Tempe

The az2gnt guys are meeting also at the Fry's tomorrow for the "alternate" cruise so see you there.
