This post is regarding my 1992 GSX. I seem to be having a serious problem... my axle bearing bracket keeps breaking. A few months ago the bolts that held the bracket to the block broke clean off and the bracket came loose. I didn't notice this for a few days until the front left wheel started thumping. I extracted both broken bolts and proceeded to retap the holes. I then put in grade 8 bolts with plenty of thread sealant. The car drove fine for about another few weeks until my transmission bellhousing cracked... Again, I fixed this problem with a transmission I bought from a friend and everything was fine for a few weeks. Then a few days ago I discovered a strage thumping noise again in the front left of the car... the bracket broke AGAIN. Why does it keep doing this? I've looked around everywhere and can't find answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you removed your A/C?

Where are you going with this comment, I am intregued.

What is an axle bearing bracket.. the spindle? (is the 2G the same?) If it's the wheel bearing assy itself, perhaps you have the axle nut too tight? If the spindle.. I am on the motor mount team.
