So I have these gears off 1g AWD manual transmission and I want to swap out the 5th gear into my FWD 2g 2.4 n/A transmission off a Spyder that i'm using on my Galant. I read on VFAQ that my tranny final ratio is 0.731 and the 1g AWD final ratio is 0.666. This is done just for getting a better gas milege, no high speeds or anything.
So my questions are:
1. This is possible right, I mean the 5th gear swap?
2.How many RPM lower should I expect, lets say at cruising speed of 65mph?
3. Do I have to pull the tranny out, because I've heard I need to heat the gears up and then press them in? What if these just slide in w/o any resistance? Whats normal to expect?
4. As an addition to Q3, Can I do it just by removing the rear tranny cover?
Thanks
