awd dyno

I was at the shop today and I heard about a kid with an awd talon that he was able to do something to disable the rear wheels so he could put it on a local dyno. Does anyone know if such a procedure exists for my 97 GSX and if it would even be worth the trouble?
Also the claim was that he put down 490 at the front wheels with only about $4000 into the motor but I don't know who it was so I can't verify it.

wasnt there a vid recently of a 2g that was pushing 700hp and was awd, bu they dyno'ed it using only the front two wheels? was that using the vr4 tranny?
