awd as fwd question

, Since the center differential in my awd transmission is welded from the rebuild, that means I don't need a viscous coupling eliminator to run my AWD trans. as a fwd? So the transfer case stays on the transmission with out the driveshaft?

Is it alright to use this setup to daiy drive on, until I finish the work on my driveshaft?

Does the rear diff. Stay?

Transfer case would need to be removed. Rear diff can stay as long as driveshaft is out.

I meant to say, could it stay on the trans after you remove the driveshaft, or keep the tcase off the transmission?

No. T-case has gear oil in it. With a removed driveshaft you would lose all gear oil out of where the yoke of you driveshaft goes and toast your t-case. Thats something you dont want!

So you leave the transfer case off if you do this. Is it okay to drive around town like this? Or is it meant for the track only?

Wanted to get my tcase and rear diff. rebuilt, and a new aluminum driveshaft to replace the 2 piece design. Rear diff isn't bad so ill rebuild it last

As far as I know only certain 1g AWDs can run in a "fwd mode." I know Ive read around here that they have a switch or something on the trans that allows this. After removal of the t-case and driveshaft. Ill keep looking and post the info when I find it!
