hey all i just got done hooking up my boost gauge, everything works...im just not sure about the lighting. I swapped the bulb out for a 192b blue or something like that cause i heard it would make it brighter then just using a blue blub condom but it still seems sorta dull. The thing im worried about is its sorta hard to see the numbers on the gauge at night. I can see the gauge and the little pointer thing, the name of it eludes me the moment, but i cant hardly see the numbers. The light mostly shows in a circle around the gauge and the pointer thing glows some. What can i do to make the light brighter or make the number more visable at night? I really want a blue light, is there a better light i can use to make it brighter but still blue? I used 14 gauge wire for all the wiring and got the lights power from the lighter and im pretty sure its got a good ground....So what can i do? If theres not really anything i can do to make the numbers easier to see thats fine cause i can still make it out, but i would really like to know if there was a way to make the light brighter, like with a different power source or different kinda light or something. thanks:)

Ahhhhh. You should have used a condom. Now you are stuck for the rest of your life. Seriously... I have the condom on mine and It works fine. it MAY be the bulb.

really? i have seen that getting a 194 bulb was brighter then using a condom, something about condoms...LOL...make the light dimmer, is that not true??? Whats this i keep on seeing about a LED, just what is a LED, i know its what ricers stick all over there cars but would a LED be better then the 194? or are they the same thing? im confused:(

LED- Light Emitting Diode.

They are pretty small and very bright. You could try one and see how it works out.

okay cool, im guessing i can prolly get one at the local autoparts store?

LED's are available at radioshack, you'll need a resistor and a LED.

There are different luminicities (spelling?) of LED's, the low quality ones from radio shack I think top out at maybe 2000mcd.... you can buy ones online that are 7000mcd.
