auto zone repair manuals

I was browsing at auto zone the other day and came across these repair manuals for all makes and models. based on engine tear down and re build. they had 90-94 and 95-99 eclipse/laser/talon. repair manual. it was complete with pictures trouble shooting and detailed explanation.

I'm asking all you fellow dsm'ers if you think this repair Manuel will be helpfull.
Or if you think it is a complete waste of money and bad way of learning about our engines.

it was like $15.00 ...would it be a good purchase or not?

i have a 98 gsx and that was the first thing i bought! my friend has a 90 gsx and we use his all the time i think it is a must have...

Any manual is better than none, but who's manual is this? Hayne's or Chilton's? Or is AutoZone making up their own?

Yes either that or the computer CD manual would be great too if you have a laptop.

i just downloaded the cd one online last night off ebay. It's only 8.00 dollars,but has a ton more info than the haynes manual. However i think i am still going to get the haynes manual to because the pictures are very detailed in those, i would say get both,it's only 8.00 dollars more.

i've been using haynes manuals since i could drive - it's always the first thing i buy when i get a used vehicle - and i much prefer them over chiltons

Haynes and Chilton are both very good manuals but alot of people choose Haynes that I've talked to or know personally.

Good job on considering buying this item first tho.

Whats even better is if you can get a hold of a factory shop manual. These are very nice but are pricey

Its the Hayne's ones.

I don't like the 2G Haynes as much. They mixed the 3G into it, and there's a lot of "Skip parts 5, 7, 8 and 9" crap.

Factory Talon manuals go for as little as $20 off eBay. The year really doesn't matter, so long as you abide the 1G/2G change.
