Auto Tranny Rebuild kit?

There are two performance rebuild kits both perform very well. I believe im running IPT and I love the results. Seeing how your a gst dont worry about the torque converter too much becaue too much rpms and you will just spin.

IMO you should put your new engine in and get it running and break it in first. You can rebuild your transmission or find one for around $250 - $350 and drop it in or try rebuilding one of them. If you have never rebuilt a trans before then I would def just buy one and save yourself the trouble and time. You would also have to buy a couple tools you prob dont have now + the rebuild kit + more down time on your eclipse. I was gonna try to rebuild mine but I ended up finding one for $150 on craigslist and it shifts good and doesnt grind at all. Either way goodluck man.

well. my buddy is a mechanic and he rebuilt transmissions.. this is my first engine build and hes been helping me along with this wonderful forum =D .. But he said we would be able to do it..

why you think i should put the tranny back in with the rebuilt engine? shouldnt i just rebuild it and get it out of the way? or wait till my tranny blows ?

I would talk to bender. I believe that is his name on here. He helped me put my car back together. His website is another good place to get in touch with him. ATdsm.com His dad just rebuilt his own a/t transmission, and is flowing at nearly 63 lbs/min. Bender has an IPT trans and welded center diff. Get in touch with him. he will be able to help you out! Good luck!

You may want to also do the full line pressure mod if you plan on racing it. There is numerous write-ups on here, but i have yet to find a good one for the 2g. If you end up doing that let me know!

If you had no problem with the tran before it should be fine for a while. Has your friend ever rebuilt an eclipse tran? Just curious. I wouldnt wait till it blows but I would put atleast a few thousand miles on it and then worry about the tran. Just a suggestion. Just curious what kind of break in method are you going to use for the rebuilt engine? and did you use a torque plate when you had the machine work done? Please PM me with that info. Thanks
