So i did my swap from an auto to a 5speed. I saw that there was an extra connector right by the clutch pedal and i tried plugging it in but my brake lights just stay on all the time(and the brake light switch was already plugged in so i didnt get them mixed up. So my question is, how do you get the clutch switch to properly work in a swaped vehicle. Do you need a manual ecu or is there just another connector im not finding?

The brake pedal sensor (which controls you brake lights coming on and off) is different between the A/T brake pedal and M/T brake pedal. If you installed a M/T brake pedal and left the M/T sensor in there then you need to pull the sensor off your A/T brake pedal and install it. I have a picture of the two side by side if you'd like me to post it up?

After I did my swap I just left the clutch switch unplugged, it prevents wear and tear on the TOB since you won't have to depress the clutch everytime you start your car.

I'm not 100% sure of your question but I'm certain I can figure things out for you, I just need clarification that I answered it correctly. I took over 800 pictures while I did my swap of all the connections/sensors side by side that were different between the A/T and M/T. The ECU in a M/T is no different than the ECU in a A/T 2g so that would have nothing to do with the problems that your seeing.

Does leaving the clutch switch unplugged have any affect on the cruise control? As in, if i have the cruise on and i push in the clutch, will the engine rev? I know alot of cars have a switch on the clutch that cancels the cruise when the clutch is pushed in

Well i have a big holset turbo on my car and i want the clutch switch for the anti-lag operation between shifts. Right now the clutch switch is not plugged into anything and my brake lights work fine. When i plug that extra connector in to the clutch switch my brake lights stay on all the time.

Ok, so I just got under there on my lunch hour and realized that there are two switches on the clutch pedal assembly. One at the top and one at the bottom. The "extra" connector ive been talking about fits perfectly into that top switch, and as ive said, turns my brake lights on all the time, i searched around and tried to see if there was another loose connector that match the switch on the bottom side but i didnt see anything. Im gona look up a wiring diagram ( which i should have done in the first place) and see if i can find it. Any help would still be appreciated

Ok, after looking at a wiring diagram it looks like i can wire the switch up straight from the starter relay to the switch and provide a ground thus giving me a working clutch switch. I was trying to figure out how the ecu would see the clutch switch when it has no inputs into the ecu when I rememberd that the dsmlink came with a clutch cut wire that i didnt install. I will try this tonight hopfully and post my results.

Ive got the pictures of the connector going into the clutch on my camera but still need to upload it to my photobucket and post it up, I'm at work and can't do it til tonight. Heres a shot of the connector and how to jumper it...
