I currently have a full 3" turbo-back. Due to reasons beyond my control, I must get a quieter exhaust. I have already tried welding on a brand new oval Magnaflow muffler at the rear and two bullet dynomax mufflers on the piping. It is still too loud.
I have decided to try and find an oem catback system to mate to my current downpipe. I will then install a cable or electric cut-out on the downpipe for when it is needed. Problem is tracking down a non-destroyed oem catback local and mating that to my current downpipe.
I have been reading and appearantly the Apex Cat-Back comes with an adaptor to fit the oem cat. I assume this same adaptor would then work between my downpipe and catback. I assume this is just a reducer with proper flanges.
Has anyone bought a brand new apex catback and received this adaptor? Can you take a pic or describe it to me? I have asked a few people and they do not remember getting the adaptor, so maybe it only came on the exhaust a while ago. Can anyone confirm if this adaptor still comes with the exhaust and maybe point me in the right direction to acquire one?
EDIT: Well someone just gave me one, so as soon as I get it we will see if it is a good solution for my exhaust build.
RESOLVED: The flanges matched up as I thought. Only thing is, it makes the exhaust too long with my Apex downpipe, so we cut the oem catback and took out a few inches.
