Anyone think they can help me guess this turbo?

Bought a 95 AWD, but nobody knows wtf kinda turbo is on it. Its shaped like a t25 but hella bigger. Got a 3" inlet or some kinda bigger inlet, and a stock t25 outlet (90deg bend)

Theres no markings on this turbo like the FP or any other places.
It flows 30lb/min at 6,500rpm @ 18-20psi. I cant seem to get it to boost more than 20psi, and its only using 45% of my PTE 880 injectors.

I'll have a picture of it sometime soon but no camera at the moment.

Reason I'm asking you guys to guess what kinda turbo this is, is cause I need to get a oil return line for it. The previous owner just cut up the stock 2g return line and put a rubber hose inbetween them.

Thanks guys. :talon:

damn t28s have 3" inlets these days??!

thats the only thing that stopped me from saying a T28. . . .

Lets wait on some pictures before guessing anymore. . .

it'll be a couple days before I can get a picture.

What are all the turbos that come with a 90deg bend?

I can only think of the t25 and t28 and hrc super 16g w/ 10cm housing.

Ive had a t25, seen a t28, and had a super 16g, so I KNOW its not one of them.

I have not seen a t28 killer, but only read about them.

Any do, depends if it's ordered that way/welded on by previous owner or not.

well damn. I suppose the whole 30lb/min thing wouldnt help narrow it down then eh? :notgood:

Heres more details:

I forgot to mention that it has no nipple on the turbine housing for a boost guage/mbc line or whatever.

The internal wastegate has no bends in the arm. Its a straight arm from the housing to the internal wg. The wg is bolted on at the side closest to the driver side of the turbine housing.

it also looks a LOT like this one:
http://www.turbochargers.com/Turbos...des/Frank50.htm

It has the letters "4 B L" stamped into it towards the top, and it has the rectangle with nothin stamped on it, but the rectangle is a lil bit different than the one in that pic.

not to hijack the thread but i'm also wondering what kind of turbo this is....

EDIT its a t3/to4E and i've been told that it is a 60 trim

it looks like a XS power/ssautochrome turbo that you should not buy...LOL...unless you want it to split in half...

all of xspower turbos say the XSpower on it i've not seen a ssautochrome turbo but thanks for the imput

looks like a 20g but it would have MHI somewhere on it. i know i've seen that kind/shaped wastegate before.

AGP RS49 Not polished obviously.

thats my guess.

Bolt on hybrid t3/t4 with elbow welded on.

Your the 2nd person to say a bolt on hybrid t3/t4 w/ the elbow welded on.

BTW your name is my liscense plate ;)

I have had my username since apr. 2002, how long you had it as a liscense plate?

It is true though, I am in Xtacy over GSX's.

Cool, still stand by my guess its a RS49.

Well Im not sure by looking at it but I don't think its a RS49. He said it flowed 30 lb/min @ 20 psi, an RS49 should be flowing alot more then that. My evoIII flows 32 @ 18 psi. Those flow numbers would be what I would expect from some sort of t28, but with a 3" inlet??

By looking at the pic they have posted on their site the comp covers don't look the exact same and its hard to tell by the pics but it looks like his turbo is using a stock style mitsu turbine housing while the pic of the RS49 has a slightly different turbine housing.

So far I think your right.

Previous owner swears up and down its a "Stage 1 mutt hybrid t3/t4" turbo.

Thats it. I had one just like it.

You say it only flows 30lbs/min at 19psi?

You say the turbine housing is still mitsu?

You say it wont go past 20psi?

You think its junk?

If you said yes to all of those, its probably a mutt. God I thought those damn things finally erraticaed themselves out of exsistance? Oh well.

Run it till it blows up, then get a "real" turbo! ;)

Peace :dsm:

It's not a MHI turbo, 20g's don't look like that. It's a T04B compressor cover with an elbow welded on. Hard to tell you what it is without some pics of the compressor wheel and maybe some measurements but it's flowing right around what a small 16g would.
