I've been looking for a new manifold and the Punishment racing budget racing header looks good quality for the price. Anyone have any info on these headers?

Look it up in the search bar...there was a post about tubular manifolds and this was mentioned a couple times. Some people claim it is the same thing as those cheapies you get off ebay, the only difference is the name.

I talked to Tim at punishment racing and he said that the budget manifold is NOT even comparable to ebay ones. Theyare constructed with the same care and precision as their full race manis. The difference is the guage of steel used and they dont run supports from the head flange to the collector. However he said if you're running anything larger than a 50 trim it isn't the manifold you want unless you brace it somehow.

If you talk to him again, please ask him if he did any back to back dyno testing with his mani vs some ebay crap and see if he can back it up. The reason why is because if you take a look at all the other threads about this there isn't one person who can show you direct back to back dyno tests with the two different mani's without changing any other conditions. So it would just be interesting to see what he has to say once you ask the question.

I don't think the OP was questioning the dyno info. I think what he is asking is, Is the build quality there? Correct me if I am wrong. I have some insight into the SSautochrome manifolds since a good friend of mine handles their ebay sales for them. I will only tell you this. I ordered one from Tim rather than get the SSautochrome one even though I could get the SSautochrome one dirt cheap. You also have to look at the idea of a waranty coming with the ones Tim sells verses the warranty that comes from SSautochrome. Hopefully if you do order from Tim you will never have to test his warranty. This is just my .02 so take it or leave it.

Just worried about the quality. I recently just got my 90 TSI AWD, and it came with a pacesetter, which of was cracked and after a weej the number 4 runner sepearated from the flange. I loved the thing when it was working right.
