Lol, can I get away with a normal ish DD with this and a felpro composite gasket torqued well? Its stock and staying stock.

The gouges shown in the picture will not have any affect on compression. The gasket will seal next to it as long as there are no positive burrs or nicks. Run an Arkansas stone over the surface to make sure there are no positive burrs.

Chances are you'll blow something else before that's an issue anyway.
 
Ok. That's pretty much what I was looking for. This is a pretty high mileage car anyways. I'm taking the head in to be resurfaced/machined because it overheated and just want to get the DD going again.
