anti surge housing efficiency/ spool loss?

I keep reading that the anti-surge housings reduce efficiency and slow spool but am curious what kind of losses you are really looking at...or even if that's true... I got a 20g wheel for my 16g and read that many people had surging issues so I opted for the larger 3" anti surge housing....that's where my curiosity stemmed, i know the td05 20g isn't the most efficient setup to begin with so I'd hate to make it worse.... anyways is it worth spending the money and buying a normal housing and seeing if I really need the anti surge setup?

i am curious on this topic aswell. im running a gt35r with an anti surge housing and a pte bolt on housing and i feel like itsnot spooling when it should. no exhaust leaks or boost leaks

It you are surging you are not even on the map. Sooo in order of priority: being to the right of the surge line > a tad more heat put into the air charge.

This will not make for a perceptible change in spool. You assuredly. have other issues.

I would tend to agree, you should not notice a real change in spool up characteristics. From what I have read the anti surge ports should only bleed off pressure right before the air flow backs up to the point of surge. The air will take the path of least resistance thru the anti surge ports, some companies even call them "map enhancement ports" so maybe it's the housing or giant o ring leaking boost?
