my belt just recently started squeaking really loud. that usually means that the belt was streched...right? Im afraid i didnt let everything warm up and im wondering how much of a pain in the ass this will be to replace. I just hope it isnt one of the components either(alternator, a/c, steering, etc.) yet another one of those little things that drive you crazy

Check to see if all your belts are tight before replacing them. Also check for wear

Yeah belts only squeak when they need to be tighten or they are worn out. Mine were squeaking like crazy when i started my car last year. Found out all of them were loose. I tighten them and havent hear a peep from them yet. Hope this helps.

I felt to see if it had cracks or wear and there was some wear but it wasnt like "torn to shit" or anything but there was wear. It would probably be a good just in case kinda thing but ive never changed the belt and havent seen it done(note the rookie member label LOL) Is this going to be a pain in the ass?

well its not the air conditioning because i cut the belt for it(dont use it). I am fairly certain that its the other accesory belt because....or i think so. (remember...rookie member LOL). When the clutch is pressed and i rev the engine it still whistles really loud.

Well i do have a stereo system(subwoofers n shat) and draws from the alternator. But i am using a capacitor and the lights are still dimming. So I am guessing I probably messed up the alternator. My buddies gsx has the sqeaky power steering syndrome. mines more of a howling. It used to make a quieter but similar sound but never really thought anything of it. it would only do make the little noise occasionally.
