I had an alternator go bad on me so I got a another one and I had to use a different plug. The plug on the left is the one I pulled out on the old one and now I have to use the one on the right which has a cut wire? Anybody know what I'm supposed to use?

Wow. That alternator looks like it has seen better days. MUCH better days. Anyway, my guess would be that the black wire with the yellow stripe goes with the....black wire with the yellow stripe.

Your old one on left does not look standard for a 2g, the right one does. From left (pin 1) to right (pin 4) the wires on the 2g one should be white (G), red (S), black with yellow stripe (L), green (FR). The letter within () is the terminal on the alt it goes to in case that helps. Pins 1 & 4 go to the ECU. Pin 2 to battery thru fusable link. Pin 3 to chg light on dash. This is all from my 99 Mitsu Eclipse manual and I assume 95 is the same.

Thanks man. I think this idiot that installed this 6 bolt tried to put the 1g alternator on this thing. Because that is the only thing I can come up with. Thanks a lot
