Resolved Alternator fuse keeps blowing

i just replaced my alternator and the alt fuse keeps blowing on me. The alternator wire sparks on the alternator stud so it seems like its grounded somewhere. Also what is the yellow wire on the alternator olug harness because thats just dangling in the wind right now...

I can recall two occasions when my alternator was throwing sparks. One was when my power steering line started leaking at the pump and was dripping on the alternator stud. The other was when the nut backed off and the connection was quite loose. My yellow wire has been dangling since I swapped motors (2+ yrs) so no worries there.

I was blowing fuses like that once. It turned out to be my negative battery wires touching a wire on the firewall when the engine torqued. It may not be your problem but it's worth a look.

Also what is the yellow wire on the alternator olug harness because thats just dangling in the wind right now...

That yellow wire if it touches metal will blow your alt fuse. It comes from the regulator inside the alt and must be connected back up to fusable link 4 (30A) in engine fusebox.
