Hey guys, well i did a search and couldn't come up with a straight answer so i'll just start a new thread. I was wondering if a bad alternator or one that was on its' way out could cause your car to idle surge. With my accessories on (lights, defrost, etc.) the car will surge but with them off it will idle completly normally. Thanks in advance guys. :thumb:

Could be, bt most then likely it could be a ISC motor ready to go... you see whrn you put load on the alternator, the car will try to iddle higher, the ISC is in charge of playing with the iddle, and maybe it can't keep up on holding the rpm at certain levels...

also adjusting the BISS screw on top of your throttle body could fix this...

Let us know...

one why to find out pull the hot cable off your battery while the car is running if it dies right away the alt problems and check your grounds sometiimes they could come alittle loose then by using the ass. it could be cause it to move so try let us know what you come up with
