I Just picked up some Kickers, the 5 1/4 for the front.
However they dont fit at all, so Im going to have to return them to Pepboys.
I couldve swore the speaker size for a 90 Eagle Talon Tsi were 5 1/4.

Anybody else run into this problem?
### from the looks of it, just to mount a speaker in there right, Im gonna have to find a shallow 6 1/2

Yeah the 1ga Door Speaker Size is either 6.5 or 6.75. My talon came with 6.5s in it and they look factory. They might be as they are infinity.

You sure?
I have the stock speaker with me right now, and its no where near the dimensions of a 6 1/2??

there exactly 5 1/4, however the mounting points dont line up with the kickers.

So youre saying I should just go with the 6 1/2?

yeah but thats the thing, the kickers I picked up are way too small, Theres no place to mount the 2 bottom holes.

Any 1g guys out there? prefereably with a 90, what speaker did you all go with

There was no way I was getting 6.5" drivers up front without cutting the sheet metal. The 1Ga's are 5.25" and there is some question about the 1Gb's. What speakers you had was dependent on the stereo across the whole 1G line but they may have changed the door and trim on the later cars to permit a 6.5" driver.

Caps shows different door skins and mounting cups for 13cm and 16cm door speakers starting the last week of June 1992 and at least three different 16cm speakers from then on.

Alright just to let you guys know, for the 1st gen, Eagle talon Tsi 90 manual.

My car originally came with 5 1/4, however I got 6 1/2 to fit in there with no drilling whatsoever.

6 1/2's are gonna be the better fit because our stock 5 1/4 measure almost like 6 1/4 from mounting hole to mount hole diagnoally. Cloer to 6 1/2 size.

Hoever ya gotta find one thats shallow enough.

Thanks for the help you all.

On to the rears.
