Just got my Glowshift gauges, im installing a narrowband airfuel gauge. I know its not wideband...Anyways, for the ECU wire install im following this guide..Jumptronix Installation Instructions . Except i ran my power and ground straight from the battery, this is my last step on the install. Do i just run the green wire to the marked wire on that diagram that says "o2"? The wires are so stiff i cannot even move them, should i take out the plug and then splice into them,?

just tapped into that wire that they suggested... havent tried driving yet, but when im idling it goes to all the way rich, and it doesnt move when i turn the car off... im guessing this isnt the righ wire?

Well it shouldn't move when the car is off. You mean at idle, after it warms up, it doesnt start cycling back and forth between lean and rich?

Ive idled it, and it goes to lean once and then rests at rich..

ive let it sit for about a min or two. still nothing

Either o2 sensor is bad, or youve got the wrong wire. Also, if the ignition is off and its still reading anything, you deffinatly have the wrong wire.

Mine typically shows lean at cold start, and over the course of a minute or so goes to rich before it starts ossilating. This is due to the o2 sensor warm up time.

No i havent... would that really make that huge of a difference? i had it serviced but chances are they didnt do a BLT.... should i just try driving it and seeing if it moves?

Well you either have a huge boost leak, connected the wrong wire (but I dont think that is the case seeing as it does go lean at first then just stays rich? or also stated a bad o2 sensor. Are you throwing any cel's? If you do drive it, pay attention to the gauge under heavy deceleration, it should'nt be reading anything at all.

hmmm i know i have the correct wire though... i wonder if i just didnt splice into the wire.. i used one of those quick splice pieces.

NO CELs...

Well if you are sure you have the correct wire, and a good connection, you can rule that out. It's down to either a faulty o2 sensor, faulty gauge, or major boost leak. Do you have a logger?

hmmm no i dont.. if it was a bad O2 sensor then wouldnt my car be running off and CEL light on?

Yes. But to make sure, if you have access to a voltmeter check the front o2 sensor wire that goes to the ecu. During idle and cruise, you should see the O2 voltage fluctuate between 0.20 and 0.80V.
If you do get access to a logger, during WOT the voltage should be in the 0.90 - 0.98V range

im gonna try to get it all set up and go for a drive to see if i get any results, this liable?

Wait, looking back you said you used one of those quick splice pieces. Just to make sure, take it off, and make sure you have a good connection. I'm thinking it has to do with that.

The lights go red to green thats indication of power and no signal.. check that O2 wire.

Quick Splice routinely donot cut through insultion.. Take it off, grab a fressh splice connector, and try again. Usethe same spot on the Os wire if possible. No need to put multiple insulation cuts.
My NB did this same thing. I ended up solderingthe wires.
Needless to say that NB is trash bro. Even on a carb'd engine they are worthless... You WILL get tired of the lightshow real fast. Mine lasted in my car for 3 days.

BTW, hooking up straight to your battery will quickly get you a dead battery. my NB in my Truck will kill a OPTIMA in 3 days.
If you getthe ECU pinout. you will easily find a switched 12volt wire and a ground.. My NB in my car all hooked up 6 inchs from the ECU plugs.

ok sorry guys... i got it. the connection was loose. fixed it and its doing what it should now. Thank you guys so much. Now i just gotta figure out how to drill it into the frame

It will kill my battery with it hooked up to it that way? seriously? whys that? the gauges dont come on unless my lights are on as well.
