My car runs great when it runs, but about once a week I get a no start. I'll crank it over it hit off two cylinders then die. Then it just cranks and cranks. If I undo the battery for about ten minutes it will usually start right up.
I thought it was the crank or cam sensor so I got out my manual and tested both of them. Both sensors are reading the correct voltage. It just did it to me again in a parking lot, so while the car would not start I tested both sensors again. Both are reading between 2 and 4 volts, and are get twelve volts in. The grounds are also good.

The car is differently get air, fuel, and spark. So I guess it has to be a sensor some where?

Should I try another ECU next?

Thanks for any help you can give.:banghead:
Its very embarrassing to have this happening all the time.

if the crank sensor were bad you wouldnt have spark. ecu sound like a reasonable place to check next. check for capacitor leakage, pretty common problem, you can also pin out the ecu to check for bad connections. ecmtuning.com has good write ups on them

After two months of my car sitting I finally got the problem fixed. After every one telling me to put a new ECU in it. I ran across a guy who said he had the same problem a couple years ago. He told me to replace the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor. Well After a twenty dollar part the car runs great again. One more driving it somewhere and then hoping it starts again. It seems when the ECTS goes bad it always thinks the car is cold. So when its hot and you try to start it it floods it out.
