aem tru boost contr. recommended or not?

trying to figure out if i want to go with the aem tru boost contoller. like the fact thats it serves two purposes (gauge and contoller). but want to know if its worth buying! let me know thanks

Hear lot of good about them from my buddys. Just not that luck guy that can afford all the cool guy shi#. Still making loads of power though. Depends on what you want the gauge cluster to look like

I have had it in all of my boosted cars and never had a problem. Great gauge and a even better controller.

It was one of the first mods I did. I love it! You can turn it to "Off" at which point, I slowly build 8PSI of boost and get great fuel economy! Turn it to mode "A", and I quickly build 20PSI, mode "B" and I build 28PSI. It works great! You can find them pretty cheap now it. I installed the AEM Tru-boost and AEM Wideband in a gauge cluster bezel.

I am not sure if this is correct, but I believe the wastegate crack pressure is the point at which the solenoid starts pulsing (as opposed to simply blocking the boost pressure). This bleeds air to allow the wastegate to start cracking open. This should help with overshooting the target boost pressure.

I was planning on buying AEM Tru Boost Gauge for a while, I especially liked the boost limiting function to prevent boost creep, but after careful consideration I decided NOT to buy AEM Tru Boost.

Everyone in this thread seems to be recommending it but I would suggest to keep searching on the pros and cons.

My car already has a manual boost controller (if you don't already have one you can buy them for really cheap). You can then buy an AEM Electronic Boost gauge for $144 as opposed to $260 for Tru Boost. That price difference right there allows me to buy it right now. Plus I would rather mess with a manual boost controller and learn from it before going with an electronic one.

Lastly, I believe ECMlink gives you all the functionality of AEM Tru Boost so if you are going to buy ECMlink in the future, why pay for functionaility twice?

ECMlink does NOT offer a boost limiting function yet (it is in the works) where AEM Tru Boost does. That could be pretty important....

Perhaps im he odd one out then cause my solenoid never worked...and every now and then the gauge keeps recycling. Im also having issues with their oil pressure gauge...ie doesn't work. I just use the try boost as a boost gauge now.....an expensive boost gauge.

Another +1 for this item. I love my AEM Tru Boost. I only have one because I got an amazing deal on it though! Looks great with my AEM WB.
