AEM high volume fuel rail

Seeing that one of my previous reviews has seen over 1200 hits, im back on to tell everyone about my personal experience with AEM fuel rails. I have had two of them over the years and the same problem occured from both- FUEL LEAKS!!!! again im not here to bad-mouth any company, I love AEMs products in general but whoever designed this product should have been fired. The stock mitsu rail has some good points to it, they should have taken these into consideration before making this desaster of a rail. The AEM unit uses these rediculious fittings that allow the hook up of the stock fuel feed, and oem regulator. ( this is a good thing for most people - the bad thing is they leak ). The way they work is with 2 o-rings, 2 pins, and 2 skrews. The fitting goes into the rail, the pins slide in around the fitting and the skrews hold it in place. ( this allows the fittings to move 360 degrees. - something that is not needed... ) this works fine for the feed line, due to the lack of weight put on the fitting. The return is a different story. If you use the stock regulator, or like me use the import evolution reg which bolts to the rail this causes the return fitting to self destruct. Both AEM rails I had began to drip fuel, then over time it would pour out like a sive. The pins rub against the inside of the fitting. ( think about it AEM!!!! - this is mounted on an engine, which vibrates constantly!!!!! ) The pins wear away on the fitting and eventually cause it to become sharp destroying the orings and making your fuel system flow like the niagra falls all over the place. I contacted AEM and they said I installed the fittings incorrectly, but yet again AEM YOU INSTALL THEM FROM YOUR FACTORY!, it comes put together! AEM shut me out and did not help me with my problem, saying the rail is more then a year old ( yet it was only ran 2 months during the race season ).

Being a huge fan of the sport I get pissed when you think your buying a quality product from a known brand like AEM, and when it fails they wont back their products! I would advise anyone thinking about going to an aftermarket rail to not go in the AEM direction. Many other companies make rails that dont use this horrible fitting system. Ex; Fuel injector clynic, or Aeromotive. I hope that this post is helpful to some people, and most of all I hope it grabs the attention from AEM so they can improve this product. There are many DSMs running AEM parts - if AEM wont back there products up we should not be using them!
