Hi
I just bought and installed KYB GR-2 SHOCKS and TEIN S.TECH LOWERING SPRINGS (mechanic installed them for me) on my 99 GS and the car came out a little different then i wished. On the front there is almost no space between my tire and my fender and in the rear the gap between the tire and the fender is about 3 in. Also when i drive over some some holes and bumps in the road my car feels like its about to break down. Is that suppose to happen or is there something wrong with the parts. Any help will be appreciated. Sorry if some1 already made a thread about this.

(it's kind of hard to see it on this pic but i don't have any other on my computer right now)

i bought them on ebay and i paid a mechanic to put them together and mount them because i don't know much about the mechanics. Is there a way to know if the rear springs are in the front and vice versa?

i checked and they seemed to be the real deal. sorry if thats a stupid question but where would i check which is rear and which is front
one set of springs has a number F-P1R56..... the other starts with R-P1R57.... could the F and the R possibly stand for rear and front?

I went to my mechanic today and he claims that there is no way that he could mix the springs because the front springs are supposedly different shape then the back springs. Anyone got any other ideas why my car is crooked?

Ok, now my question is, are the rear springs maybe upside down? Or maybe they aren't seated correctly.

I'd contact the vendor you bought from and make sure you got the correct application.

The front and rear springs on a 2G look exactly the same. The fronts are heavier and the coils are thicker. There's also no way to install the springs upside down on a 2G because one end is tapered.

I just returned from another shop and the mechanic he said the exact same thing as RamenPride. However, the first shop is still holding their ground and says that it's right how it should be. So I made them a deal: if I get it fixed at another place and they were wrong, they will pay the bill. So i got my fingers crossed hoping the second shop was right.

Problem solved. Tein just wrote me back saying which parts suppose to be where and as you guys said, the springs for the front are in the back and vice versa. I still don't know how can a mechanic that specializes in working on suspensions and stuff gets this kind of stuff mixed up. Thanks for all the help.
