:dsm: so i was working (at knotts berry farm, halloween haunt) and i barely got out at 2:45a.m. and it was pouring like hell out there, i was driving home at about 50 when a puddle of water comes out of nowhere and hydroplanes my car like crazy(falken ze512's)and covers the windshield with water to the point where i cant see and i slow down and i see smoke coming out my engine so i keep driving to a gasoline engine and on the way there i think there was like 5 puddles (at least a foot and a half)that i went through,so i stop at the gasoline station and the car is smoking somewhere around the radiator/fans and the fans aren't working.so i turn off car for like 20min and sit there and when i turn it on it idles like a ford model t dropping as low as 200rpm.so i decide to try to go home (about 10-15miles) and i am at about %35% throttle and the car drops the revs and slows down, until i punch it and then it lags and starts picking up slowly,so my question is do you think i got water in my engine and/or shortcircuted my fans(i have a shortram intake),and my check engine light was flashing like crazy for a while.

sorry for the long ass novel but i cant just say everything in 2 sentences :dsm:

oh and there was 2 guys in a civic(cf hood, rims, steering wheel, lots of stuff)that had their civic turn off on them because they had a aem cold air intake that might of sucked up water and they couldnt start their car

sounds like a messed up night...i would remove the spark plugs and pour PURE alcohol (about 2 tablespoons) in each cylinder and leave it it with the plugs out for a day letting the water evaporate.....then check your plug wires and coil pack to make sure they are working correctly...then try driving it again....should work out...it has happened to me before during a hurricane it isnt the end of the world as long as the enginge doesnt lock

i turned on my car this morning and it idles good but i try to turn on the fans with the ac or heater and they dont turn on,so that might be a problem :dsm:

Yeah, at one point my car started running like shi*t (my old ESi), so i took it to a mechanic shop and it turned out i had gotten my sparkplugs wet somehow, so i replaced them and BAM!!! ran like new :D

yep it too happened to me exept I was washing my engine bay when I first got the car not realizing that water was going in thru spark plugs and ran like crap, changed wires and plugs and ran like new LOL you could have blown the fan fuse too check that if nothing mentioned above works :thumb:
