97gst motor into a 99gst

So my motor needs to be rebuild or else do a engine swap. A guys selling me his motor that was out of his 97 gst that he totaled but he said there was no impact to the engine.. My question is, is there anything different from that motor and what do I gotta do to make it work if so?

Direct drop in. Everything is exactly the same.

+1 direct fit just do a little check and make sure that motor is in good condition, or you will be in more then you wanted.

Are all the sensors the same and any other preventative maintenance I should do while the motors out other then just timing belt n tensioners

Water pump, timing belt with idler and tensioner pulleys and auto tensioner, B belt and tensioner pulley, spark plugs, axel seals in tranny, check turbo shaft play, measure crankshaft endplay.

Optional: replace T.O. bearing (and clutch and fork if needed [fork wears where it rides on pivot ball but you really can't tell if worn there by inspection]), replace thermostat (or at least check if gunked up), cleanout I.C., clean EGR, clean throttle body and replace shaft seals, clean injectors, put exhaust heat shields on if not there, replace accessary belts if needed, check all motor mounts, replace fuel filter, replace any bad looking heater, radiator, and vaccum hoses, replace rear engine oil seal behind flywheel if suspect any leakage or looks bad, add skateboard bearings to tranny shift levers (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/new...wheel-bearings-merged-12-6-a.html#post1822461), replace select shift lever shoe if worn (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/mai...t-fifth-gear-grinding-help.html#post152266167), measure flywheel step height for future reference.

All sensors are same.

Not to threadjack but is there any reason why you don't go 6 bolt?

You mean why didn't he get a 6 bolt? Or just don't get one period? Most people would rather have the 6 bolt. Don't have crankwalk issue and they can handle more power then the 7 bolts.
