'97 eclipse not getting spark... please help!!

The car will crank over but will not start. It is getting fuel. We tried to replace the coil packs but that didn't work. So now we are thinking maybe the crank position sensor, but not positive. The car isn't getting spark to 2 plugs what could be the problem. I just got the car and really want to get it running... Thank you

Timing is a likely issue. Bee sure that all your timing marks are lined up right on the cam gears, oil pump, and crankshaft. If you dont know hoe they are supposed to line up, Go to This site. Timing Belt VFAQ

Cas possibly. If memory serves me correct. I'm a 1g kind of guy. Make sure all your powers and grounds are good and tight first.

An engine needs a three things to work. Fuel, spark, and compression. Make sure you have all three before buying new parts.

its 2&3 is the one that aren't getting spark... Do you think that it could be the crank positon sensor??
Thats not getting any power to it either if I am thinking of the right part that got tested..

No if it was the CPS you wouldn't have 1&4 firing either. It's the Cam Angle Sensor, power transistor, ECU, or wiring between these.

Cam Angle Sensor, power transistor, or wiring between these ............ yes ... check it and get that car started .... check the coil it self .. (wirings of the coil )
