i am going to test drive a 95 talon tsi with a 6 bolt in it and he says 2 of the cylinders have really low compression like 100 and 110. Which after looking at the service limit, it is hard to see this thing run. It has 91K on it and he is throwing in an extra 6 bolt b/c he wanted to build it but didn't have time b/c of school and needs this car gone asap. has a 14b tubo on it and he says the 6 bolt has under 100K on it so what do u think could be the problem. He says that white smoke shoots out every once in a while but after he drives a but it stops. I'm thinking its the headgasket or valve seals. But for $3400 is it a good find? its a 5 speed by the way. Thank you

i called a place to get a leak down test but should i buy this car b/c i searched for this topic about compression and headgaskets. All i found was a guy told this other guy that if its over 100 then he is good for now but how long could i go with this low compression just wanting to know that too.

White smoke = coolant.
If he's still got 100 & 110psi it's probably just a headgasket.

Still, I wouldn't spend $3400 on a car that might have a hurt motor.

sorry i forgot to mention its all interstate speeds home so prob around 65-70mph

Before you buy it have him do a wet compression test on the low cylinders to see if the number jumps dramatically, that will tell you weather its the piston ring's or not.

But a 3 hour drive I dont see why it wouldnt just dont beat on it, and if he has a boost controller turn the boost down as far as it will go.
