Need some help here. Its been a long while sinse I have seen a 97-98 talon up close. Im trying to buy a complete body kit for 97-98 style, to convert my 95 into 2gb.

Heres the questions. Will the 98 style wing bolt onto my 95 hatch without leaving any holes or having to cut any big holes?

On the 2GBs there are body side strakes from the doors to the back fenders. Are the door strakes part of the lower mouldings? Are the fender strakes a moulding or are the fenders formed that way?

Really need the 2gb talon owners to chime in. Ima mind to drop 500+ for parts and need to know if I need to get the hatch too,, and if the side strakes will be doable without changing complete doors and fenders.

Thanks!

The 2gb spoiler has an odd shaped hole drilled into the hatch. I had a hard time getting it correct, so I ended up buying a 2gb hatch and spoiler. Then I didn't have to fill holes, either.

The side stakes do have attachment points on the doors and 1/4 panels that are drilled into the car. However, you could get away with the moulding tape to hold them on if you don't want to drill those holes in. They are not part of the lower mouldings. In fact, the 2gb talons do not have the side skirts like us 2ga people. :)

The front and rear bumpers bolt on with no issues.

Thanks for the info! I checked out your pics, and your car looks great without the strakes. I think I will just go with the bumpers and spoiler(hatch?)

Little more info about the hatch if you can. If I put the 98 wing on my 95 hatch, will there be ANY holes to fill? I dont mind making holes as long as its covered by the wing strut. Mostly concerned about left over holes in the hatch from the smaller 95 wing.

Mines going to stay white. What issue of modified was your car featured in?

Thanks again for the info!

Attached are some photos that illustrate the holes I'm referring to. You'll see how this can be tricky. So I just opted to find the OE hatch. (which is the one in the photos; I just painted it black.) On the 95/96 cars, the little spoiler is held in with 4 or 5 bolts; so you will have a few holes to patch up. The 2gb spoiler; since it;s raised, will not cover any of the holes from the smaller spoiler; unfortunately. Hope that helps!

Thanks! My car was on the October issue in the Reader's rides section. :)
