HEY THIS IN MY 95 TALON ESI N/A BUILD PROJECT
THIS IS MY FULL RESTORATION THREAD. ONCE THE CAR IS COMPLETE IT WILL BE UP FOR SALE, I STARTED IT 5/24/11

A LITTLE HISTORY OF IT, I BOUGHT THE CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR 400$ HERE IS A PIC OF IT WHERE I FOUND IT

AS YOU CAN SEE, OR ATLEAST IN MY OPINION THE AFTER MARKET FRONT CLIP HAS TO GO! SOLD IT A FEW DAYS LATER FOR 120$

HERES A BAY SHOT, AND AFTER I WASHED IT IN MY DRIVEWAY

SPARE TIRE DIP

THE PAINT JOB IS ABSOLUTLY HORRID BTW OVERSPRAY EVERYWHERE AN DEFFINANTLY DONE OUTSIDE, BUT NO RUST.
I WILL BE RETURNING THE CAR TO ITS ORIGINAL COLOR OF BLACK

NEEDED MORE PARTS SO I PICKED UP THIS DONOR CAR WITH RUSTED OUT UNDERSIDE FOR 700$
IT KNOCKED, BUT CAME WITH BRAND NEW TIRES ON THE STOCK 16'S, EXGAUST, HARD PIPED INTAKE, GOOD INTERIOR, AND OEM FRONT BUMPER (BUMPER IS OFF IN THE PIC CAUSE IT WAS GETTIN PUSHED ON THE DOLLY

THEY ALSO DECDIDED TO PORE 15 THE STRUT TOWERS

NEXT I GOT MY 10K HALO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS AN DUMMIED THEM IN WITH THE NEW OEM FRONT BUMPER ON, NOTHING WAS BOLTED IN, THATS WHY IT LOOKS WARPED

THE NEXT STEP WAS TOO PULL THE ENGINE FROM THE YELOW CAR (LABELING EVERYTHING IS A REALLY GOOD IDEA)

NEXT A DISASSEMBLY OF BOTH CARS(TALON ESI AND ECLIPSE RS) BEGAN, BOTH ENGINES WERE PULLED, THE ECLIPSES IS LEFT TOGETHER BUT THE TALONS TOTALLY DISASEMBLED FOR REBUILD

THEN I GOT TOO THE BAD BEARING

UP NEXT WAS BACK TO THE ECLIPSE SINCE THE DASH IN IT WAS PERFECT AN THE TALONS WAS CRACKED, TIME FOR REMOVAL!

I HAD PREVIOUSLY BROUGHT THE ENTIRE DISASSEMBLED ENGINE TO THE MACHINE SHOP TO BE HONED BORED .30 OVER AN CLEANED, ALSO REBUILT HEAD

NEXT IT WAS TIME FOR SOME FAB WORK, THE RADIATOR CROSS MEMBER WAS DAMAGED FROM PREVIOUS OVER CRASH(JUST BENT UP, ALSO THE HOODLATCH WAS WELDED TO IT) SO IT WAS TIME TO REPLACE IT, DRILLED OUT THE TAC WELDS ON BOTH AN THEN PUT THE ECLIPSE CROSS MEMBER TO THE TALON AN WELDED IT ON

FIRST TIME WITH A PAINT GUN, TURNED OUT GREAT!!
SUPER HIGH GLOSS, PICS WERE TAKEN THE DAY AFTER WHEN DRY

NEXT IT WAS TIME TO REMOVE THE TALON DASH

NEW DASH IS IN AND MY CROWN ROYAL SHIFT BOOT!

BACK TO ENGINE, PAINTED BLOCK, PARTIALLY ASSEMBLED. NEW WATER AND OIL PUMP

FULLY OR ATLEAST ALMOST FULLY ASSEMBLE ENGINE ALMOST COMPLETE AN ALL PAINTED!!

HEADER IS STAINLESS STEEL, SANDED DOWN AN READY FOR A BUFF.

BACK TO THE INTERIOR, WAS FINISHING UP TAKING OUT ALL THE PLASTICS IN THE BACK SEAT AREA DRIVERS SIDE WITH I DISCOVERED A GIANT ANIMAL DEN BEHIND THE PLASTICS!!!

EVEN CHEWED THROUGH THE SPEAKER WIRE, I WAS WONDERING WHY MY BRAND NEW SPEAKERS WERENT WORKING ON THAT SIDE...

AND THATS ALL FOR NOW, THE DATE IS 2/5/12 WILL KEEP UPDATING WITH MY PROGRESS THANKS FEEL FREE TO ASK QUISTIONS OR GIVE ME TIPS AN POINTERS!

thanks man!! its my first time ever doing this an its actually turning out really good! it just seems like eveytime i tackle something major on it, then something new pops up!

thanks man! It took quite a bit of work and taping off but it think it turned out great too! Car should be show car quality when done, forgot to mention suede headliner an interior pieces plus new speakers and interior lighting!

ill find out asap an post it tonight, but at the moment i am not planning a turbo build on it, although it plewnty built to handle a turbo set up. mabye if i found a deal on one. but as it sits im doing a full resto then selling after i put some miles on it to start a new project!

Great learning experience, but you're going to have a tough time recouping your money out of this. ESi's aren't in much demand no matter how nice they are. Good luck with it.

well itll be like a brandnew car, and im gonna look to selling to someone who just wants anice car, not as much to the talon croud since most of them was the 4g63 models. besides i only have 2200$ into it right now including the yelow car

The paint is peeling because the surface was con taminated dirt grime clear coat still underneath even the oil on your hands can make the paint not stick and become like a sticker.

It's good that you're keeping costs down, but realistically, it's probably a $2500 car when you're done with it in perfect condition. Just being up front with you. I've bought and sold almost 100 DSM's, so I have a little experience. It's a great project though.

Highlighted the important part there. Theres a surplus of n/t's for 1k.

Thats not the motor or drivetrain that people buy these cars for.

But it looks good so far. Just be real with it and that fact you most likely will take a loss with it.

ha thats cool that your from here, and yea i think ill make some money off it, value of a car is set by how much a person is willing to pay, i know i could rip someone off an make a good ammount off it but at the same time theyd prob beat it to shit. an im only 17 but this is my 3rd dsm of my own an my 4th car so i know a lil bit about the whole buy an sell thing, that being said im willing to come out even but will wait for the right offer

picked up my full leather recaro interior from a 2004 audi S4 today. gonna atleast fit the front seats, or mabye do srt viper seats, none the less will post pics tonight.
