I just did a head job and replaced timing belt ,water pump and idler pulleys. The car runs fine when cold but as soon as it warms up the engine has a mind of its own. It goes through cycles of rpms from 4000 to 2500 in what seems cycled controlled phases then the engine starts to run rough and the cel comes on throwing multiple codes then dies. No codes when cold. I unplug battery and let cool down and it will do the exact same thing to the T. I replicated this 4 times just to be sure and its always the same. Would this be bad PCM or should I check the crankshaft position sensor? The PCM also has a high pitched noise emitting from it. Usually with the key in the ignition but sometimes it will do it after the key has been removed for a short while the cease.

I apologize in advance on the grammar. I will work on it

Would you think the PCM is bad causing all the sensor read errors or would all those codes actually be reading right?

Well I waited until the exact moment the check engine light came on and shut it off. The code pulled was p1390 timing off by one or more teeth. I re timed it twice and the second time it looked dead on. Do you think the sensor could be causing this or would it being out of time make the computer think the sensors are bad?

It just seems with all these random codes that change up when I reset the ecu leads me to think that it's brains are bad....but I'm not sure.

Well tonight I went out and rechecked the timing and it isn't perfect when the cans are lined up the crank is about 1 tooth advanced. Would this cause all these problems? The car runs pretty darn good while cold but once it approaches operating temperatures it slowly starts running poor then it runs bad and causes the cel to come on with multiple codes .

Yes one tooth can make a difference. I drove around with one tooth off the crank and cam gear. My car drove nice when it was cool out but during the heat it studdered and loss alot of power. So make it a 100 percent on. Then clear the ecu and test drive it.

I got an updated crank sensor but all the wires are purple ....I'm pretty sure my 95 harness isn't..? Do I just work left to right?

Well the crank sensor seemed to fix the random reving cycles but it still lopes at idle. No codes are present though?:banghead:
