My sister in law drives a 95 GST, and asked me to find out whats wrong with her car.

I took it for a test drive this evening and it makes a clunking noise when the car goes over bumps of any kind. So I took a flashlight and looked inside the rear wheel wells. I noticed where the REAR upper control arm meets the upper spindle mount the rubber is torn and the upper spindle is not centered on the bushing.

Would I be better off replacing both upper control arms, or is the bushing in the spindle assembly itself?

Anyone ever have this problem? I tried the local auto parts stores, but no luck.

If my description is unclear, someone post a pic of "right above the rear tire" and that will be the rubber mount that is torn.

I am more experienced in the AWD platform, so I really can't be more specific.

Thanks

No, he is talking about the upper knuckle bushing that sits right over the tire. Mine wore out also and did the same thing. I searched and searched and searched, only to find you can't buy the stock bushing itself, so I bought Energy Suspension bushings(rear kits only for now).

Jesus Kelly just replace the upper control arm Mitsu should carry them.

The bushing that needs to be replaced is in the knuckle, not the upper A-arm. If he followed your advice, he would be wasting his time and money.
