I just bought a 91 vr 4 numb 1166/2000 and i was going over it and i found a black box under the drivers seat. it has 44 wires two plugs, i don't know anything about vr4's, i unplugged it and the car would start but every warning light came on, the car wont run worth a crap with it unplugged, i was pondering on it so i started following the wires, they all run to the ecu, there are two plugs on the box that look like they plug into a laptop and it so happens i have one i run on my eagle, i plugged them in and all that came up was random scrolling numbers while the car is running when its off nothing happens, if its a standalone how do i go about finding out who makes it and where can i get software for it, if its not what is it?
