i have a 1991 eagle talon tsi awd a/t. it turns over but does not want to start, i replaced the fuel pump, and checked the fuel rail and the fuel is going in and just going right out the return line. i tested the injector wires and it has power but no ground. i opened up the ECU and there were no leaking capacitors. the MPI relay works fine, just clicks a lot. what grounds the injectors?

ok. but the ECU doesnt smell like its fried or anything. could it be the camshaft position sensor is bad? or do i need a new ECU?

totally forgot to ask this before.. it could be your cam/crank sensor only if you have no fuel and no spark so test for spark

when i tried to test for a code, i got no heartbeat. just a constant voltage. and i have spark and fuel so its gotta be the ecu, right? camshaft position sensors dont just go like that

If the MPI relay is clicking rapidly your ECU isn't running right and since the ECU is what pulls one side of the injector to ground to file them, it not working is a big issue.

Sure sign that ECU has failed.

i replaced the ECU with one from a M/T talon and it started right up. thank you guys so much! however, the boost gauge doesnt seem to be working at all, the ecu is from a turbo car, so i would assume it would work perfectly?

Just because the case says it's from a turbo car doesn't mean the board is.
There could be other causes but the ECU should be the first thing to check. If the board matches the case the number printed on the white edge connector will match the last 4 digits of the E2T number on the case.
