90 TSi AWD not starting...

I'm having problems getting my car to start. obviously...
The problems came about the day after i replaced my alternator. I was driving in town went to pull second and the car just shut off.
I tried to start it and had it hydrolock on me because it flooded. And now i can't get any gas to the cylinders.
It has spark but i can't get fuel past the injectors. I've checked the injectors, they power on right when you turn the key but act like they aren't being controlled, or being told what to do. I can't pick up any electrical pulse thru the line. Does anyone have an idea what would cause this?

The car is completely factory.

I would pull the ecu and make sure the caps didn't leak.

If thats the case and idea what it would cost to have that fixed or would it be more worth my while to go ahead and upgrade to a 91+ ecu?

I figured i would let everyone know that the ECU caps did leak and the start problem was solved by replacing it.(just to finish this thread up)
