It'll be a long freeway cruise (still fun in a big group of DSMs!) down to Vancouver. Then it's like Eclipse Rogue says - a twisty highway along the river and up the hills to lunch, and more twisties and a highway run back.

Are people planning to go to Horsepower Freaks again this year? I missed out last time because I wasn't "in the know" :(

hey cornerhard, are you lowered at all? if so, does the run cause any types of scrapage? i'm riding on 17's lowered and my exhaust might be an issue because of how it's run

Yes, I'm lower than optimal on 17s (hopefully raised a bit and cornerweighted before the autoX season). I don't remember any scraping on my Apex'i N1 exhaust on the HRR. Usually the only things that will cause me to scrape my exhaust or front bumper are really steep driveways and entries/exits to parking lots. The are a couple sections of uneven pavement by Multnomah falls, but I don't remember them causing me any problems. The Apex'i does tuck under the car fairly well, so if you have an exhaust that hangs pretty low, it's possible you may graze the pavement. I don't expect you'll have any problems.

Sounds exciting, havent gone to any of the HRR's but am looking forward to this one. Anyone know approximately how long the run is? I should have my turbo in by then. Lookin forward to meet all the other DSM enthusiasts. :thumb:

lets see, how long the is the run? I don't know in miles, but plan the WHOLE day. I leave my house at like 4:30-5am (I live in BFE) and last time I went, I actually washed my car before I left (I probably looked crazy washing my car at 4am) and I don't get back till at least 6pm (thats if I leave RIGHT after, if you know the people who know the people, theres some after event hangouts usually) :shhh:

i'm actually pretty sure that's the plan... you guys up north drive down, i meet up with you in olympia and whoever else along the way and we keep caravaning all the way down... i think it's going to be awesome! :thumb:

I think these year will be a nice big turnout, expecially with all this sunny weather we're having.... I might be able to snag a Police Radar, from a buddy of myne, and since Im a cadet I have the sheet where it tells me all the codes, and what channel's they're on (at least in the portland area)

But, this is looking like a very very good turnout.....

usually the first place I meet with people is the McD at 512 in tacoma. I usually get there a bit early so I can eat a little breakfast. but if peope wanna meet further north Im down. but Im leaving w/o u if your running late and Im gonna miss my leisurley breakfast at McD!! ;)

I shall be meeting up at Hood River along with a couple DSMs. :)

I should be lowered and draging my exhaust by then- due to time restraints the FMIC and MAFT settup will have to be done next month. Oh Well. :sosad:

Which camera mount are you trying to use Nick? Is it the one you're putting on your roll cage? If so I can get you this Sony DCR TRV-950 video camera with a 900 minute battery and a secondary 300 minute battery to film HRR in car. This camera will shoot damn good footage too since its a 3CCD camera with all the goodies.

I'm still pissed I'm missing HRR AGAIN, but this prior commitment is too good to miss. Matt I'm counting on you for great footage or else your XL2-S privledges are gone! But I want all the drivers to give me some good footage to edit on for DRIV3N, Matt and I will discuss this before hand and get a shot list together, etc.

I'm not trying to be God (nor is this an atempt to be a hero of any sort) of this meet but, I disagree with the whole n/t rule. If theres some cool n/t DSMers- who wont drive like idiots or be immature, why is it a problem if they come? IMO- the more DSMs the better. As long as the act/drive respectably, why single them out? Because they "can't keep up"? please explain the rule... and justification behind it? I have a 93 TSI but I dont have bad driving habits, so technicly im sure the N/T's could sale past me if they wanted- just because I'm not a ballzy driver. :tease:

Maybe im partial but I respect people for how they are, not if they lack a turbo. :notgood:

The specific rule says that N/T DSMs ARE allowed to come... The beginning of the thread had a little bit about this exact issue. There are just some specific people that are completely against anything without a damn turbo... I'm only 19, but trust me, if I could afford the insurance on a 1G or 2G GSX I would be in one in a heartbeat!! But I can't so I had to do the next best thing, a 2GNT! And anyone that has been to a meet with me here in the Olympia/Tacoma area and even some of the Oregon DSMers I was just with a couple weeks ago will tell you that I'm a pretty cool guy... Either way, I'll be there with my 98 2GNT!! :thumb:
