i've got three of them but which is for which? :confused:

pardon the severe rusting...when usable, all will be treated prior to use... :nono:

A=top
B=middle
C=bottom

A and B do not have the step as C...
A has the larger overall diameter among the three, due to the larger ring gear diameter...excluding the ring gear, A, B and C al have the same overall diameter...
C is stepped, A and B are flat...
B appears lighter than A due to lesser 'meat' near the center...

need help...

I may be wrong but the top 2 look like they are for an automatic. The middle one looks smaller so it may be for an AWD. The bottom is definitely for a manual transmission, however, whether it's for a FWD or an AWD I wouldn't know

EDIT: yep Like I said I was wrong. very VERY wrong.

Incorrect, no automatic transmission uses a flywheel. They use a flex plate. These are all flywheels. The top 2 are non turbo flywheels and the bottom is a turbo flywheel. You would really have to measure the diameter to really know exactly what they are from. The top one seems to be from a 1g fwd non turbo. The 2nd one is a little tricky. It seems that it would be from a non turbo awd with the smaller diameter. Maybe a galant gsx or something like that. The bottom one is a turbo flywheel and seems to be an awd flywheel because of it's diameter, but would also would have to be measured to know for sure.
 
so all turbo flywheels are stepped, regardless of whether it is for FWD or AWD?

and NA flywheels are flat?

assuming the top two flywheels are NA, can i swap ring gears to take advantage of the ligthened middle flywheel?

Yes all turbo flywheels are stepped and all non turbo flywheels are flat. The non turbo flywheels use a smaller diameter clutch disc and lighter duty pressure plate so you would be loosing clutch holding power. Also i doubt that switching the ring gears is even an option here. Just use the right flywheel for the engine and transmission that you are using and don't really worry about what the flywheel weigh's.
